39. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.40. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. 41. I receive not honour from men.42. But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.John 5:39-42. Jesus explains to the religious leaders that they search the scriptures and memorized it. But for all their efforts they were still lost souls. For salvation is not in reading praying and speaking the word of God. Salvation is in Christ. The Father sent Christ, He was obedient. The scriptures the old testament writings spoke of Christ as the Messiah. But the leaders having no love for Christ could not see Him. No Jesus, no salvation. Christ needed not honor from men, He is not affected by their salvation or destruction. He came because He loved mankind. Moses talked of Christ. Psalms talks of Christ. All through the Bible you see Christ. But without love for Him you will never hear the call to come to Him. John the Baptist told everyone who Christ was. Few found Him. And hardly any of the religious leaders. These are Christ's words simplified. How can you say you love God when you do not love His Son. And so shall it be at the end of time, those who love Christ also love the Father who sent Him. They will be separated from the multitude who looked for another way into heaven. All who love Christ shall enter into eternal life. While all who rejected Christ will enter into eternal destruction. Amen.
