I know this won’t sit well with everyone, but the truth needs to be said: Catholicism and biblical Christianity are not the same.
• Catholicism teaches that we still need a human mediator. Christianity declares Jesus alone is our mediator.
• Catholicism claims salvation comes through Jesus and the Catholic Church. Christianity teaches salvation is through Christ alone.
• Catholicism allows for the idea that loved ones can be prayed or paid out of purgatory. Christianity affirms that Hell is final and eternal.
• Catholicism encourages prayer to Mary and the saints. Christianity calls us to pray directly to the Father through Jesus Christ.
• Catholicism practices infant baptism as a means of entry into the faith. Christianity calls each person to be born again by personal faith in Christ.
Can Catholics have sincere faith in Jesus and be saved? Absolutely. But the system of Catholicism adds to the gospel, and that’s a serious issue.
Historically, after the destruction of the temple in 70 AD, it was Rome that plunged the Church into the dark ages.
Let’s be discerning. Don’t get caught up in the hype over a new Pope. He could very well play a role in end-time deception. Many scholars believe the Pope could be the false prophet of Revelation.
I don’t say this to attack anyone. I say it because truth matters, and silence isn’t an option.
