21. For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.22. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:23. That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.John 5:21-23. Jesus has just healed a man who has been disabled for 28 years. This was on the Sabbath and upset the religious leaders. Jesus explains that He is here doing what the Father sent Him to do. This has upset them more. These are not the words of a man claiming something He is not. Jesus could not lie and still be our payment for sin. A truth is delivered by Jesus. You cannot say you belong to God, without belonging to Jesus. You cannot say I obey God, without obeying Jesus. Jesus gives eternal life to whom He chooses. All judgment has been given to Him by the Father. There is no way you can get around Christ's words and think heaven will open its gates to let you in without Christ. Jesus says plainly in verse 24 that all who hear Him and believe that the Father has sent Him, have passed from death unto life, having eternal life, and shall not fall into condemnation. Amen.
