they certainly didn't tell anyone about the scale or spectacle let alone frequency of events.
When we see the early world - it was beautiful, every single building, a work of art - there wasn't a duff building anywhere in sight. This one is ugly without a beautiful one anywhere in sight. Inversion. Urban renewal was a crime but it was legally done - like all officialdom.
