29. When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:30. Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;31. Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men. Proverb 8:29-31. Solomon gives praise to wisdom. He speaks of wisdom as a noble, beautiful, helpful woman. Wisdom promises goodness to all who seek her. Calling to all the residents of the earth. Wisdom is truth, nothing faulty or perverse. Wisdom is seen in Christ as He created all things. We have laws that rule us, these laws have authors. The universe has laws, and they have been discovered, but none know the Author. These laws, like gravity, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, laws of motion. The list goes on. In verse 29, Solomon gives credit to the wisdom of Christ, as He set the tidal boundaries of the waves of oceans and seas. The authority of Christ in Psalm 115:16, states that the heavens are the Lord's but the earth was given to humanity. Solomon in Proverbs always separated fools from the wise. Fools laugh at instruction and pass on to destruction. The wise are teachable, hearing wisdom's voice, showing that Christ can be Savior or Judge. It is the individual who will reap the reward or suffer the consequences. Choose wisely. Amen.
