3. Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.4. And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.5. And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money. Luke 22:3-5. This is a sad tale but it is the way of destruction to all who are like-minded. Judas is one of the close followers of Christ. Sent out with the others and preached the Gospel message and cast out demons. Yet at this time, Jesus is preparing Himself to be our sacrifice for our sins. The priests and religious leaders are seeking a way to kill Jesus and it is no secret. Judas visits these leaders and Satan being the true enemy of Jesus, has Judas sell his soul for 30 pieces of silver, to betray Jesus. The love of money truly is the root of all evil. Now consider what did Jesus do that was worthy of death. Look and see the 30 pieces of silver brought no comfort to Judas who after the deed went and hanged himself. If he had known Christ as Savior he could have asked for forgiveness. Whatever state we are in today do not put off asking Christ's forgiveness, He is able. Amen.
