ZELENSKY MADE HIS BED…NOW HE CAN SLEEP IN IT Cartoon published 04/29/2025 President Trump wants to expedite peace in Ukraine, but Zelensky might prove to be too much of an impediment. Perhaps he does not want to stir up the ire of far-right Ukrainians leading a losing battle in his country. Many Ukrainian commanders not only reject peace, they also want to reclaim Crimea from Russia. They do not want compromise and that invites the complete destruction of Ukraine. Ceding territory to Russia is a prerequisite to ending the war, but Zelensky hates Russia and Putin to such a degree that it blinds him to logic, reason, and compassion for his own people being sent to the grist mill. Many Americans (including us) do not hate Russia and we do not want to be dragged into World War III just because Zelensky refuses to stop fighting and hating. It might be the case that Zelensky loathes Russia too much to accept peace, but getting the US military involved in Ukraine does not benefit the US one iota. Ukraine has always been in the Russian sphere. Seventy percent of Ukrainians speak Russian. We need to heed the advice of our Founding Fathers and avoid this foreign entanglement. We should end military and monetary aid if Zelensky resists peace and continues the conflict. Joe Biden said he would do whatever it takes to help Ukraine defeat Russia, but he’s demented and out of office. Most Americans are tired of paying for a war that does not benefit us or ‘democracy.’ Zelensky is a dictator who claims he’s saving democracy, but the facts show he stopped elections and ended free speech. He closed churches and outlawed opposition parties. That’s hardly democratic. If Zelensky does not cooperate with the peace process, Trump should wash his hands of the matter, walk away, end the aid to Ukraine, and let Russia finish the job. — The GrrrTeam
