35. But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: 36. Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.Luke 20:35-36. Jesus is confronted by Sadducees, who deny there is any resurrection from death. Jesus makes a declaration of the difference between this world and His kingdom. Jesus states there is accountability to obtain His kingdom, and being raised from death to His eternal reward. There are no married individuals there. Because Jesus is married to the church, His bride. Death will be defeated, and eternal life with its reward, are sure. The promises of Christ are yes and let it be so. Jesus explained that God is not the God of the dead. For Moses called God at the burning bush, the God of Abraham, and Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Jesus Christ is God, and in Him, we have life. Here and for all eternity with Him. This was the very purpose for His coming. Amen.
