One year before that Jamestown exposition event on the other side of America in Virginia, San Francisco was completely destroyed when it had it's 'earthquake' and subsequent 'fires'. Walls cut diagonally again.
"Festival Hall was a building at the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition World's Fair in St. Louis, Missouri. It was a temporary structure that was demolished after the fair ended!"
St Louis then and now.
"Between 1901 and 1903 ...Corridors and staircases were finished with tiles and mosaics that can still be seen in parts of the building today. Electricity was employed for lighting purposes, a steam heating system introduced, hydraulic lifts and a telephone system."
