15. The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.16. They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not; 17. They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.18. They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.Psalm 135:15-18. The psalmist speaks with wisdom. Christ who made everything by His spoken word can not be worshipped with the things He created. All the things we put between Christ and ourselves, is in fact, an idol. Christ created with His word, men create by the work of their hands. Christ has spoken to us through the Gospel message. Idols are silent, having no power to warn or save. Christ can see the end of a matter before it begins. The idols are blind. How can they provide if they can not see the need. Christ hears the repentant sinner. The deaf idol can not forgive what it can not hear. Christ became what He created and gave that life up for the salvation of mankind. The idol having no breath has no life. When we worship Christ the Son of God, we become children of the most High God. Nothing on this earth can do that. Christ, the name above all names, has secured an eternal reward for all believers. There is no idol, fortune, power, position, or person that can match it. Amen.
