2. The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
3. The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear God.
2 Samuel 23:2-3.
King David, the sweet psalmist of Israel. A shepherd raised up by God anointed to be ruler over Israel.
He gives glory to God for the words of his psalms and that the words he spoke came from God.
God picked King David because he had a heart for God when he was still in the field with the sheep. He knew the protection of God when he was still a shepherd.
The King never forgot when he was raised up to King that it was God who promoted him.
The King knew God requires men who rule to be honest and just. God will have men to give an account of time spent in government, judicial, legislative, and executive.
Ruling in the fear of God. Meaning not in terror. The fear of God is respect, reverence, and devotion.
We shall all give account of our actions, how much more those who are in power over men. Jesus, the Son of God, left heaven, not to rule over us. He came to save us. And that cost Him, His life. Amen.
