DEMS-13

Democrats have taken sides, and they are not siding with the American people. In fact, they take every opportunity to spit in the face of American citizens, justifying the Democrat party’s feeble 21% approval rating.
The most recent example is Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen—Maryland’s own white knight in shining armor—who jetted off to El Salvador for a heart-to-heart with Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a deported Salvadoran who the Trump administration says is a MS-13 gangbanger.
Van Hollen’s mission? To cozy up to Abrego Garcia, who many Democrats say was mistakenly deported due to an “administrative error.” The senator was sipping margaritas (or so the rumors swirl) and playing footsie—metaphorically, we hope—with a man accused of ties to a gang so notorious it makes your average biker bar look like a knitting circle.
Van Hollen has been practically writing love letters, posting on X about passing “messages of love” to Abrego Garcia’s wife, Jennifer, while demanding his return to the U.S. Never mind that the Supreme Court ordered the Trump admin to facilitate this homecoming, or that El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele is like, “Nah, he’s staying in our tropical paradise prison.” The senator is out here fighting for Abrego Garcia like he’s auditioning for The Bachelor: Immigration Edition.
Compare this to Patty Morin, a Maryland mom whose daughter, Rachel, was brutally raped and murdered in 2023 by Victor Martinez-Hernandez, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador. You’d think a senator from her state might, oh, I don’t know, send a condolence card or at least mention her name without prompting. But no, Van Hollen has been busy racking up frequent flyer miles to El Salvador in order to coddle up with Abrego Garcia.
Patty, invited to a White House briefing, calls out the senator for barely acknowledging her daughter’s horrific death, leaving her five grand kids motherless, while he’s out there advocating for a guy with alleged MS-13 tattoos on his knuckles.
Patty is not alone in feeling like Democrats have swapped “America First” for “Anyone But Americans.” The White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, brought Patty front and center to highlight how Democrats seem to roll out the red carpet for alleged gang members while victims’ families get the “we’re busy” voicemail. It’s a stark contrast: illegal immigrants get congressional field trips, while grieving moms get a pat on the back and a “thoughts and prayers” tweet.
The Democrats’ approval rating has nosedived to 21%, a number so low it’s practically begging for a participation trophy. Why? Well, when you’re seen prioritizing the “welfare of an illegal alien MS-13 terrorist” (as the White House dramatically put it) over law-abiding citizens, voters tend to notice.
The narrative’s clear: Democrats are bending over backward to defend folks such as Abrego Garcia, whose gang ties are disputed but not exactly disproved, while families of victims feel like they’re shouting into the void. The Trump administration is hammering this point, with border czar Tom Homan saying Abrego Garcia’s “home” is El Salvador, not Maryland, and Trump himself calling Van Hollen a “grandstander” who “looked like a fool” in San Salvador. Ouch.
So, what’s the takeaway from this political telenovela? Democrats are doubling down on a strategy that paints them as the party of open borders and closed hearts, at least when it comes to American victims. Van Hollen’s Salvadoran adventure, complete with photo ops and impassioned pleas, might win him points with the progressive crowd, but it’s alienating everyone else. The 21% approval rating isn’t just a number—it’s a warning siren that voters are fed up with what they see as a betrayal of American priorities.
As for Patty Morin and others like her, they’re left wondering why their pain takes a backseat to the plight of deportees. Meanwhile, Van Hollen is back from his trip, probably still tasting those margaritas, and vowing to keep fighting for Abrego Garcia’s return, which prompted the White House to post on X:
“We are not the same….”
