37. Blessed are those servants, whom the lord, when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
38. And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
Luke 12:37-38.
These are Jesus's words about those who are prepared for His return. Where your treasure is, that is where your heart will be.
The text explains a Jewish wedding, which could last a week, and the servants kept the lights on and were dressed, ready to serve the master on his return. The 2nd watch is from 9-12am. The 3rd watch is from 12-3am.
This is how Jesus expects us to be on His return prepared and alert.
Jesus said those servants will be blessed.
Adding that if the man of the house had prepared for robbers, he would not suffer the loss of his property.
This means that thieves do not give warnings.
The only warning we have is Jesus' promise of His return. It is our responsibility to be ready at any moment.
Jesus is God, Lord, King, and He will not reward half measures. Where is your heart, what is your treasure. Amen.
