34. The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, the whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.35. Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.Luke 11:34-35. Jesus speaking about a lamp being lit is not hidden but put in a place to illuminate the room. The lamp of the body is the eye, meaning your understanding. If an eye does not work, it is blind. If your understanding is evil, your spiritual understanding is blind. Jesus did all things in the open. If we do not see Jesus, the fault is in us. A man said if you can see the carpenter but not the Lord, what kind of life have you been living. Jesus said, take heed that the (light) in you is not darkness. He is not talking about light, but what is in you ruling your decisions. If the evil within a man keeps him from seeing Jesus, it will not matter how bright and glorious Jesus is. The man will not see Him. It is the responsibility of every person to seek Jesus, and in seeking, you will find Him. I am living proof, a drunken, drug addict, a lying, cheat, thief, and unfaithful. And Jesus saved me, He will certainly do the same for you. Amen.
