1. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven whose sin is covered.3. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.Psalm 32:1-2. The psalmist speaks of the great blessing of forgiveness. Forgiveness is sin covered, forgotten, pardoned, no longer exposed. This is the work of Christ the very reason He came to the world He created. The Almighty laid on Christ the iniquity of us all. We can not find a covering for sin without Him, seeing it is His blood that paid the debt. Sin is missing the mark. Transgression is crossing a line of authority. Iniquity is a deliberate act of disobedience against God. Forgiveness is the removal of a burden or debt. Covered is the sacrificial blood covering sin. Not imputing is bookkeeping. It does not count against the person charged. Spurgeon wrote, "Oh, the blessedness! The double joys, the bundles of happiness, the mountains of delight! To all who seek and are forgiven by Christ, the Lord. Amen.
