1. And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.
2. There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.
1 Samuel 2:1-2.
There is so much revealed in the eleven verses that begin chapter two.
This is a song and a prayer, Hannah is giving her son to God for his entire life, like God gave His Son, for us. Hannah rejoices in the Lord, her strength and salvation.
Calling our Lord the Rock, and holy, separating Him from the gods of men.
Verse 6 speaks of our Lord bringing up from the grave, resurrecting the faithful.
Verse 8 that the earth is set in its place by the Lord.
Verse 10 reveals that the enemies of the Lord will be broken in pieces. And here we see the first time in the Old Testament that Christ is mentioned as King and Messiah.
This song of Hannah was written in 1070 b.c., 3095 years ago.
It elevated this woman of God to a prophetess.
The Lord will honor those who honor Him. There is nothing men can do to stop God's plan.
You can have Christ as Savior or Judge. The decision is entirely yours. Amen.
