Pariser Platz before WW2
Architectural genocide
Fonthill Abbey, built 1796 by a wealthy British landowner as a private residence.
Demolished 1845
Interesting picture of a "private residence" yet this residence has crosses all over the exterior like a church or something similar.
Founded, not built.
”Napa State Asylum Hospital”
Construction started 1872, and the two first patients, from San Fransisco, were admitted in 1875, taking only 3 years to build this incredible complex of stone, iron and glass.
And it had a fully functioning railroad system underneath.
