27. But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
28. Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
Luke 6:27-28.
This is simple to understand, but it is very difficult to obey.
Jesus is continuing His teaching on doing good. I come to this part, and I have read this over 40 times through the years. I see that if we do not love our enemies, we are not part of Christ. The golden rule, do to others the way you want to be treated. I had a conflict with this because, like Jews and Muslims, who shouted death to Christians. How do you love enemies who are evil. Then again, we look at the Cross, and Christ died even for those who hated Him.
Verse 35-36, Luke 6 gives proof of what I am saying, I spent time a lot of time on this.
And I found of all things I have limited Christ's power. Many that hated Christ and helped crucify Him became believers.
And Christ's power can turn those that hate us into a friend. How many of Christ's enemies have been converted today, the very least we can do is pray.
I remember what I was like before Christ, and it was not good. A long road of changes and correction. I have been corrected this day, I pray πŸ™ you will follow Jesus' words. Amen.
