Seven Words To Live ByWe find in John 3:30 seven words spoken by John the Baptist that ought to be the inward desire of every one who is born again. John the Baptist said in John 3:30 - “He must increase, but I must decrease.”I once heard a preacher say, “Make much of Christ and little of self.” In studying the life of John the Baptist I find no evidence of a man who was seeking to make a name for himself, or a man who was selfish, or a man seeking to promote his own agenda. John the Baptist had one goal in life and that goal was to prepare the way for Jesus Christ to be accepted by many. He did this by preaching repentance from sin and being baptized as a symbol of one’s repentance. John the Baptist was not trying to steal the show. He humbly bowed out when it was time for Christ to take the floor of the world. He knew his purpose in life was to make much of Jesus and little of his own self.What’s your purpose in life?
