37. And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.
38 But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.
39. No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.
Luke 5:37-39.
Jesus parable is clear. No one can put the new life into the old nature. Like putting new wine in old wine skins, when the wine ferments, the old skins rupture, and both are lost.
Christ's new nature must be put into a new man.
Christ did not come to patch up the rabbinical school practices of Judaism. Christ came to give a whole new set of clothes to His people.

The old ways are not pleasing to Christ, for they put aside God's ways and taught the traditions of men. People get comfortable in routines. Dismissing the new for the old ways.
Jesus came with eternal life that can not be found anywhere but in His sacrifice. He did not come to patch up something old. He brought us Salvation, freeing us from the sin and guilt we carried from birth.
Jesus, the Son of the Living God, creator of everything knows exactly what we need. And has supplied it at the Cross. Amen.
