The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.Psalm 118:20-22. Psalm 118 is a song praising God's mercy and deliverance. Surrounded by enemies, God's people are delivered. God's people have every right to rejoice. A song of eternal deliverance from destruction. As the gates of heaven opened wide to accept Christ at His ascension, all covered in Christ's righteousness shall see the gates open to receive them. Only the redeemed may enter for nothing defiled may enter. Christ was rejected by the religious leaders, as Messiah. They did not approve of His origin, His lack of formal education, His disregard for religious traditions, His choice of friends. A cornerstone secures two walls that meet at a corner. Christ is the bond between Jew and Gentile in unity, read Romans 11:17-24. Christ binds God and man together, seeing He is both, and has made peace with the Almighty for us. It would be better for Jesus to be exalted by our praise for His salvation, then to be judged by Him for our sins. Amen.
