12. It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?13. Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?14. But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.Deuteronomy 30:12-14. Moses tells the people of the Lord that the law of the Lord is not hidden, nor is it far from them. The Lord never expected superhuman effort from any to be perfect in the law, just acceptance of His grace in Christ. The covenant was laws, sacrifice, and choice. All men can see the salvation by faith through Christ. All know that they are sinners, and there is a payment for sin. Salvation came by a sacrifice, a substitute judged in their place. That animal sacrifice was not sufficient because it must be continually repeated. This shows the ministry of Jesus in the future, being the complete and total sacrifice for sin. Which will never need to be repeated. This word was close to Israel, and now even more to us who believe. Good and evil have been set before all of mankind. With this choice comes eternal life or death. Choose wisely. Your decision will last forever. Amen.
