12. Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.13. Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.14. For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.Psalm 12-14. The psalmist has set his thoughts on the wealthy and wicked men. He begins to think that he has followed God's ways and gained nothing. How many of us have thought the same? His complaint is that God has corrected him every morning. Keeping him on the right way. And this upset him. Until he went in the sanctuary and met with God. He now had understanding that these people had chosen a slippery path and in a moment, were brought to destruction. In an instant they were consumed with terrors. (v. 18-19) The psalmist now sees he was very foolish, for as his heart and flesh begins to fail, God is continually with him. The wicked will perish, but Christ will receive him into His glory. The psalmist gives good advice. Verse 28, I have put my trust in the Lord God. Let us, do likewise. Amen.
