19. Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.
20. He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto God the Lord belong the issues from death.
Psalm 68:19-20.
When Christ defeated death and ascended into heaven, He led all held captive to sin, to forgiveness breaking the bond of sin. At this time, the Holy Ghost came with gifts of the Spirit, converting the rebellious and aiding all who would serve Christ.
Daily, we as believers receive all good things from God. Unlimited in grace and mercy, we are given spiritual blessings as well as what we need to live. As a father cares for his children so the Lord cares for us. Even to give His life for the salvation of His own. Selah, this could mean pause for a moment and praise Jesus for all He has done and for all He is going to do.
This salvation is not a blanket covering over all. It is very clear that the God of salvation must be our God. We must show total allegiance to Christ the Lord. Christ alone has supplied our salvation and rescued His followers from physical death and eternal spiritual death. As Christ obeyed the Father, we must also be obedient. Amen.
