5. My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
6. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defense; I shall not be moved.
7. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
Psalm 62:5-7
The psalmist sings of the Lord, his solid foundation of his salvation.
The psalmist waits on God alone, telling his soul trust the Lord. All the psalmist trust was completely in the Lord he had learned this by experience.
The Lord was more than a defender. The Lord was his actual protector.
As believers when our total trust is in Christ, we shall not be moved off the narrow way.
To the psalmist only the Lord could supply his salvation, his glory, his foundation, his strength, and his place of safety.
We may have at some time found strength and safety in the world. Yet it would not last into eternity.
The world can not supply eternal salvation, God's glory, or a solid foundation of a loving Christ.
Christ has everything we need. There is none like our Savior. Amen.
