1. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
3. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Psalm 121:1-3.
The psalmist speaks of a person coming to Jerusalem on a pilgrimage. He has been on a long journey. Yet he sees Jerusalem in the distance his goal. His trust is not in Jerusalem, the city. His trust is the Lord who made everything seen and unseen.
Now we are on a long journey of life. Our goal is heaven. We can see it by faith. It seems far away. But we are under the Lord's protective care.
The Lord is present in our journey just as He is present in the destination.
The Lord is our help. The Creator of all has unlimited power. We are to focus not on the destination but in the Lord who created everything. It is the Lord who is the reward in heaven, and it is the Lord who prepared our place there.
The Lord is our solid foundation. Our steps shall not slide into danger.
We are never alone, never at risk, for the Lord is not one to sleep when you are afflicted. Ever present He is there to supply what you need.
You just need to ask in faith, and it will be given.
Remember at all times who have resisted the Lord and prospered. Amen.
