Guide to create a productive garden at home
1. Select the ideal place
Evaluate sunlight: Most vegetables need between 6 and 8 hours of sun to day. The areas to the south, east and west of the house usually receive more light.
Competition with other plants: avoids areas with many trees or bushes that compete for nutrients, water and light. Be careful with the Nogales, since they release harmful toxins for vegetables.
Access to water: Choose a place close to a water source to avoid transporting heavy hoses or showers.
2. Make a list of your favorite vegetables
Cultivate what you enjoy most eating or using in the kitchen.
