The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Mark 1-3. Mark is believed to be the first gospel. Written by John-Mark, who separated himself from Paul in the book of Acts. The Lord sent John the Baptist to proclaim His arrival and for people to repent and prepare themselves to hear the good news and meet the Son of the Living God. Nothing has changed in over two thousand years. There are voices like Billy Graham and others imploring sinners to come to Christ. When I was young, I heard but paid no attention until I went to jail for six months. I used that time to read the Bible. We had one in our home, but no one read it. We went to church every Sunday. I found out that one hour on Sunday does not keep you from sin during the other six days of the week. I learned that I need help and strength. I could find it nowhere but in Christ. Over forty years of reading has changed how I think and act. I am not the fool going to church thinking I am doing God a favor. I have spent time getting to know exactly what it cost Jesus to save my soul. I am grateful, and each day, I have the strength to live for Christ who gave His life so I could be with Him. Amen.
