11. And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: 12. And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.13. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.14. For many are called, but few are chosen. Matthew 22:11-14. The king has invited guests to the wedding of his son, but they refuse to come. He sends out again, saying all things are ready. You do not come to God's feast and prepare your own meal. Christ has made everything ready, you come and receive. They still refuse. So the invitation if you can receive this goes out to the Gentile nations. And a man is found in his own clothes, showing he has come to eat, but not honor the groom. We can not come to Christ in our righteousness, Isaiah 64:6 says, our righteousness is as filthy rags before God. Christ has supplied all we need at the Cross. We are covered in His Righteousness. The man is cast out of God's presence. Into a punishment of darkness and pain. Because of his indifference to the gospel message. Many have been called by the gospel to come to Christ. But refused the invitation. So at the marriage supper of the Lamb, the bride, being the church of Christ, is supplied the wedding garments. Revelation 19:7-8. But those invited, who were called, have been cast out, for refusing, they were not chosen. Amen.
