1. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.2. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed in Hebrew is esher meaning contentment. It is a person who is straight with God. It is a supremely happy, fulfilled man or woman. It is not a blessing of high rank or a scholar or of wealth. This blessedness can be attainable by the poor and forgotten. The righteous and ungodly are different in how they think, speak, and behave. They stand out by who they belong to. Where their instruction comes from will most definitely lead to which path they walk. The righteous do not travel the same direction as sinners. The righteous are careful to hear the voice, which leads to life eternal. The scornful will criticize the people of God and the ways of God. The righteous is not perfect but has surrendered to Christ. Christ, having secured their salvation, has covered them in His righteousness, and they will be rewarded. In this, we will meditate day and night, what we could not do, Christ did for us at the Cross. Amen.
