Goodbye No. 107! 🚂
This old steam engine once helped deliver construction materials to help build Douglas Dam and then was retired from the Smoky Mountain Railroad in 1954. It was later placed in Pigeon Forge on the Parkway in 1961 to promote Rebel Railroad where it sat until today. Cranes lifted it onto a flatbed to be moved to Knoxville as Dollywood sold it so it wouldn’t be scrapped. I have so many old pictures of us climbing on that thing when we were little. The only thing that stays the same is that everything changes. 🥺
