2. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3. Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4. Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Psalm 103:2-4.
The psalmist gives reasons to bless and honor God.
The psalmist, having penned many songs of praise, looks deeper into his soul for the praise God deserves. He sees that for what he has received, it will take every part of him to praise God in a way that He is worthy of.
Why? some would ask. Because of what God offers, His benefits can be found nowhere, but in Christ Jesus.
Pardon, forgiveness, healing spiritually and physically.
Redemption from the debt of sin, which is eternal punishment, spiritual death.
Christ's life for ours, covering us in His Righteousness, His Love, and His Mercy.
These can only come from Christ the Lord the Son of the Living God.
Seek Him now, for He has not dealt with us after our sins nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. Amen.
