38. The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;39. The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. 40. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. Matthew 13: 38-40. The disciples ask Christ to explain the parable of the tares and wheat. Christ's words, the field is the world, this represents salvation beyond Israel. The good seeds are the true members of God's kingdom. The tares are those ruled by Satan. God, at the very end, will separate the believers from the lost. This teaches us that it is not our job to divide in judgment. Yet we are not to accept the wicked into our assembly. Those who on the outside look good, but inside are not submitted to Christ, will be separated at the end by a holy and just God. As long as there are believers in the world, Satan will try and hinder the harvest, but all who are in Christ are safe. Amen.
