18. Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.
19. Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.
20. He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.
Psalm 68: 18-20
The psalmist authored this song 1045 years before Jesus was born.
King David was victorious over many battles, and here, he gives credit to God Almighty.
Yet, at the same time, the song sings prophetically about Jesus' ascension to heaven, expressed in the past tense, even though it was over a thousand years away.
Jesus led all He redeemed by His blood, from the bondage of sin, Satan, the world, and eternal death.
Removing the destruction set on by Satan and replacing it with spiritual gifts from the Holy Ghost. Just the thought of being saved by Jesus comes from the Spirit. Converting the rebellious.
Salvation is the start of a beautiful relationship with God. We receive more than we can imagine.
In submission to Jesus the Son of the Living God, we have a restored relationship, forgiveness, pardon, and life everlasting in Christ Jesus. There is no other Savior. There is no other entrance to heaven. Amen.
