13. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in threat.
14. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Matthew 7:13-14.
Christ's words describe two ways to travel, and each leads to a final destination.
Christ is the way and the door to heaven and eternal life.
This narrow gate is called wicket, and it is a small door in a large gate. Those who take the difficult path have a reward at the end. If you do not care where you are going, any road will get you there. Jesus is saying do not travel the easy, well traveled road its end is destruction.
If the going gets easy, better look where you're going, it might be downhill.
Jesus tells us plainly few succeed in their journey. Many are called, but few are chosen. Do not be discouraged if, during your travels, you have only a few companions, for Christ is always with you. Amen.
