7. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.8. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. 9. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Matthew 6:7-9 These are Christ's words, and we should heed His words. We are instructed not to use vain repetitions in prayer. In Greek an accurate definition would be to keep on babbling or blah-blah-blah. God is not looking for someone else's words, He is looking for what is in the heart. Prayer is not to inform God He already knows what is happening. Prayer focused on the Father in heaven His holiness His ability to do what is needed. With wisdom which far exceeds ours. God supplies the needs not the greed. Christ gave us a model on how we should pray not what we should pray. Prayer is communicating with a loving God who is interested in our every need. So we need not worry for God is able to do above anything we could ask for. And He knows better than we what is best for us. Amen.
