For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.7. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to ordered it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD host will perform this.Isaiah 9:6-7 Today's verse was written more than 700 years before the birth of Christ the Savior of the world. The world was in spiritual darkness, living under a judgment of death, Christ was born to bring spiritual light. Where light is no darkness can be. Unto us a child was born, in every way like us, except for sin. Making Christ the only qualified sacrifice for sin. A son is given. Christ the Son of God, before His birth created mankind but did not experience a body of flesh till His birth. This gift of the Son came from the Almighty. Our Savior and High Priest. Being born begins Christ's mission. If Christ was not fully man He could not stand in place of sinful man. If He was not fully God, His sacrifice would be insufficient. The government is on His shoulder, politicians seek what they can receive. Christ has provided what no one can. Government officials are out or reach, but Christ is, Emanuel, God with us. Christ is Wonderful, for who He is, and what He has done. He is Counselor, doing everything good, and for your benefit. He is Mighty God, having created everything by the word of His mouth from nothing. Everlasting Father, not taking the place of the Almighty, but as creator the Father of creation. Prince of Peace, of all things this is His purpose to make peace between sinful mankind and God. Victorious over Satan, Christ is our Mediator. For those who think Christ abandoned Israel, of His government there will be no end. He will rule from the throne of David over His kingdom Israel. And if you object, read on.
