9. And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
19. The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.
Revelation 14:9-10
John sees Christ, and the 144,000 Jews redeemed during the tribulation.
An angel flies in the middle of heaven, having the gospel to preach to those who remain on earth. Saying worship Him that made heaven and earth. Another follows saying Babylon has fallen, a picture of spiritual and physical immortality.
The third angel issues the warning about the beast and his mark. And the judgment of the wrath of God pronounced on those who refuse the mercy and grace of Christ.
There are many who have been converted to Christ.
But the wicked will be harvested and thrown into the wine press of the wrath of God. The blood coming out of the press covers 1,600 furlongs, meaning 200 miles. This is a picture of the frailty of the condemned and the power of God.
Previous to this event, an angel tells John, write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. Showing a strong contrast between the eternal rest of the saints and the continued torment of the wicked. Amen.
