Wow they are going to do this on Christmas this is wonderful that they are commemorating the battle. The 160th Anniversary of the Battle of Anthony Hill will take place December 25, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Chestnut Grove Cemetery. We know that it is Christmas Day. The actual battle took place at 3:00. We are not going to let these men be forgotten. They gave the ultimate sacrifice - their lives. This is hosted by the Giles County 257, United Daughters of the Confederacy, the General John C. Brown 112, Sons of Confederate Veterans, the Sam Watkins 29, Sons of Confederate Veterans, and Ft. Donelson 62, Sons of Union Veterans. There will also be a special tribute to a very special man, the late Tim “Parson” Morrison, the man responsible for getting markers for these soldiers. Bring your lawn chairs. In case of inclement weather, we will be at the Chestnut Grove Methodist Church which is close by. The address for the cemetery is 112 Chestnut Grove Rd. Goodsprings, Giles County, Tennessee.
