Awakening to the Light Within
Awakening is often misunderstood as something to chase or a lofty goal to achieve. But true awakening is much simpler and deeper—it’s about seeing clearly who we are and what we are not. When we break through the “fleshy illusions” of ego, societal roles, and false identities, we begin to uncover the light that has always been within us, revealing our true existence.
Consider how we often define ourselves through external achievements or possessions. We might say, “I am my career” or “I am my relationships.” Yet, these are only surface aspects of who we are. Awakening means understanding that these roles, while significant, do not fully encompass our essence. For example, when someone loses a job or goes through a breakup, they often feel lost. However, in moments of stillness and reflection, they may realize they are more than these titles or roles—they are a being with intrinsic value.
Similarly, when we stop comparing ourselves to others or living up to societal expectations, we free ourselves from illusions. The light within us—our true self—begins to shine unobscured by labels or limitations. Awakening is not about becoming someone else; it’s about peeling back the layers to rediscover the boundless, authentic self already within. 🙂
