Who is God’s Son, Jesus? Is he coequal with God?

From the writings of the Rev. Billy Graham
Q: Who is God’s Son, Jesus? Is he coequal with God? – G.S.
A: Jesus is not “a” son of God but “the” Son of God. He is the eternal Son of God – the second Person of the Holy Trinity, God manifested in the flesh.
The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ had no beginning. He was never created. The Bible teaches that the heavens were created by Him (see John 1:1–3). All the myriad stars and the sun and moon were created by Him. The Earth was flung from His fingertip. The birth of Jesus Christ that we celebrate at Christmas was not His beginning. His origin is shrouded in the same mystery that baffles us when we inquire into the beginning of God. The Bible only tells us, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1, NKJV).
When we remember the Babe in the manger, let’s also remember that the entire universe would smash into billions of atoms were it not for the cohesive power of Jesus Christ. He is “the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth” (Colossians 1:15–16, KJV).
Jesus’ throne room is His headquarters from which He issues His commands, directions, and prophecies. And Jesus sits at His Father’s right hand. No one can grasp the love of the God of the universe without knowing His Son. We can know God because He came to us in human form in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ.
