The ground isn’t just the ground. Dirt isn’t just dirt. All of our ground, our dirt, and lands are sacred. Over eons of time each particle of soil contains the ashes, the bones, and the blood of our ancestors. Generations of our people, our precious ancestors, are in the Soul of the Soil. They are with us in the very air we breathe, in each heartbeat, in each footstep we take. The Earth is a living repository of all our grandparents and great grandparents who walked here before us. In this way we have great power knowing this, for they are with us still. Willing us to succeed, to be well, to LIVE and love well. And sometimes when we are close to the Earth in soft, open awareness we can hear their voices. And they still have tales to tell us. Our children and children’s children need to know this; That all of the Earth is sacred, howsoever it manifests - that their people, our people, are IN everything, everywhere. That all Soil IS Soul.
