15. The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.16. They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;17. They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.18. They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.Psalm 135:15-18 John 1:3 states that Christ made all things seen and invisible. And man whom Christ created thinks he can make an idol of gold or silver and please Almighty God. This is a perfect picture of spiritual blindness. Our God creates, protects, heals, pardons with mercy and grace, forgives, and puts our sins behind Him, out of His sight. No idol can do this, nor can it bless or harm. How could anyone believe that making an idol from the material God created would please Him. Seeing they are not praising Him but something from their own imagination. And we, as believers, can be blinded in spiritual matters. Anytime we put anything between us and Almighty God, we have built an idol, which can never be tolerated by God. It leads to destruction, the exact opposite of God's gift of life eternal. The Holy Ghost every day is working to form us into Christ image. Do not resist! Everything Christ went through was for us. So we could receive His reward. Amen.
