POLL: Ukrainian Support for War Plummeting
Permanent Washington loves the war in Ukraine, but Ukrainians don’t.
According to a new poll, more than half of the warring country’s citizens believe their government should seek to negotiate an ending to the war “as soon as possible,” while less than 40% support continuing to fight until victory is achieved.
Gallup Polling
These findings mark a major shift from where the country’s population stood when the war began. In 2022, 73% of Ukrainians were shown to prefer fighting until the bitter end, and the number of people who still felt that way in 2023 was double those who preferred a negotiated peace.
The poll also found that Europe is more trusted to earnestly pursue peace than the United States.
