22. By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.23. And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. 25. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:22-25 The author gives evidence of Jesus giving us a guarantee of His salvation. Seeing He is holy, undefiled, harmless, separate from sinners, and higher than the heavens. Jesus became our high priest for ever. Tasting death once for mankind paying our debt in His blood. Becoming our Mediator and Advocate. In the Old Testament, Moses was the mediator, and there was no guarantee for the people. Jesus became our guarantee. Our Mediator coming in between God and us. As the payment for our sin. As our Advocate, He pleads our case before Almighty God and Satan, the accuser. Declaring us not guilty because He has covered us in His Righteousness. It's not about what we do but what Jesus has done. The unchangeable Savior is forever alive. Hebrews 13:8. Anyone who would come to God must come through Jesus. There is no other access. Jesus is constantly making intercession on our behalf. He continually represents us before the Father, that we may draw near to Him.
