12. And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;13. Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.14. And the grace of the Lord was exceedingly abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.15. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.1 Timothy 1:12-15 This is Paul's testimony in Christ. Who before knowing Christ persecuted the church, even holding the coats of the men who stoned Stephen. Paul tells this to Timothy to encourage him. If any person was unqualified to preach Christ, Paul admits it is himself. This is proof of the new birth, Paul has gone from trying to destroy the church to preaching Christ as Savior. This was ordained by Christ who enabled Paul to do the work of ministering the Gospel message. There are 27 books in the New Testament, Paul having penned 13, all inspired by the Holy Ghost, and still appropriate for teaching the church today. Paul gives a statement of Christ's grace and love, in a few simple words. Christ came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Amen.
