Soul Mates and Love: Why do people look for a relationship? It could be for physical reasons; we call it sexuality, and it can be very beautiful. It could be for mental reasons; we call it fellowship and it can be beautiful too. It could be for emotional reasons; we call it love, and it has legendaryly been extolled as the sweetest experience. Of course, physical compatibility, companionship, and love can make life wonderful, but if you're honest with yourself, you can't deny the anxiety that follows such an arrangement. It is wise to be honest about the limitations and conditions under which a relationship operates. The advantage of being realistic is that tomorrow, as you face limitations, you will find a mature way to deal with them. If you use terms like “soul mate” or proclaim that your relationship is “made in heaven”, disillusionment is inevitable. It is only when love becomes all-inclusive that you touch the limitless. And that's when you realize a simple truth: the soul doesn't need a mate.
