2. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4. But ye brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you as a thief. 5. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.1 Thessalonians 5:2-5 The day of the Lord is that time that God intervenes in history to judge His enemies. To deliver His people. And establish His kingdom. And this time comes like a thief unannounced. God's people will be prepared for this time. The duty to Christ is to trust Him in all things. But the world will mock, saying they will have peace and safety, but destruction shall come in an instant. Christ has by the Cross, made us sons of light. We have been removed from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. Satan has lost all power over us because we have victory in Christ. We are covered in Christ's righteousness. Our righteousness is filty rags. But we are in the light because He is the Light. And where the Light is no darkness can be. Hallelujah Lord Jesus. Amen.
