1. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3. Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4. Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Psalm 37:1-5
The psalmist advice is not to get all worked up over evil people or their deeds. As grass springs up, then is withered, and so is the prosperity of the wicked. So is what they built taken away in an instant. The wicked man eats a large meal while the godly man goes hungry. He knows not that it is his last and he shall not awake in the morning but will go to face his terrible judgment. The godly man has peace.
Trust in the LORD and do good. For the glory of God shall not be hid from you. And you have a sure reward in Christ. We love Him because He first loved us and gave His life to save us.
Delight yourself in the LORD. Expect all good things from Him. For if He gave His life for you, what good things would He withhold. This takes effort to delight and trust in what we can not see. Think how much you enjoy each breath, and you can not see it. So breathe in Christ glory in His presence. You shall be filled with the goodness of God. Amen.
