Just some upgrade pics today.
I put a deflector on the heat pump exhaust to increase the warm air into the pump.
I also heat treated the completed hood with a over temp burn in / cure for the garbage materials still left ob it. Galvanization is not a good taste or even beginning to be good for one! The coating from the wood will seal, and all venting will (very little / mostly) vent out the exhaust. The greenhouse will not be sealed by any means, just warmer that the overnight air.
The heat cure should be done once each fall I presume (in conditions that don't set fire to the building / as shown in vids). For normal operation the flame should never reach above the grill. With the wood rack about 1.5 ft. under the grill, that shouldn't be a problem for overnight logs this winter.
The 1 /2 hour temp readings (at the top of the heat) are: 115F on the rock surrounding, 325F on the drum, 850F on the grill, 450F on the top, 250F on the metal deflector (in back) and 150F on the cement board behind that. The temps on the back of the assembly are 500F on the drum (top) 125F on the metal, and 80F on the cement backer.
The first vid was ½ hour after set, and the second was 1 hour.
Reports as the cold becomes a thing.
